Thai-British singer Chaleeda Gilbert’s singing career began with a trip to the mall to buy KFC

For Chaleeda Gilbert, her showbiz story began with a simple trip to the mall to buy fried chicken. Gilbert was only nine-years-old then when she chanced upon an audition held at a mall in Phuket, Thailand.

“I was going to get KFC. When I saw the singing audition at the mall, I thought I should try out. So, I went home, changed my clothes and went back to the mall,” Chaleeda, 16, said during an interview in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
