Sarah Lyon’s life as a teenager in suburban Villa Park, Illinois, the United States, ended abruptly about five years ago when Lyon and her mother had a falling out that culminated in Lyon packing her things and leaving with nowhere to go.
Struggling with a heroin addiction, Lyon began living in abandoned buildings on Chicago’s West Side, where she bought her drugs.
