“You can’t pelase everybody, man.”

After the 57th Grammy Awards, Kanye West clarified that in his near-interruption of Beck's acceptance speech for the Album Of The Year award, he intended to announce that Beyonce should have won.

Beck, who encouraged West to join him on stage after he'd turn around and left, hasn't taken offense to West's insult.

"I was just so excited he was coming up," Beck said after the show. "He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody. How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?"

In a post-show press conference, the 21 Grammy award-winning-rapper commended himself for holding his peace on the live telecast, but he said that Beck should "respect artistry" and should have given his award to Beyonce.

Beck agreed that she deserved to win Album Of The Year. "Absolutely," he said. "I thought she was going to win. Come on, she's Beyonce!"

When asked about West's implication that Beck's isn't a true artiste, he replied, "You can't please everybody, man. I still love him and think he's genius. I aspire to do what he does." — Reuters
