For decades, historians of literature have mulled the untimely death that met Constance, the wife of the exuberant, scandalous writer Oscar Wilde. Now scientists say they know what killed Constant Wilde.

Constance Wilde, born Constance Lloyd, changed her name (and her children's) to Holland after her famous husband Oscar Wilde was sent to prison. She was an early pioneer for women's rights who fought for a change in women's dressing in the Victorian era called the Dress Reform Movement.
