Actress Lupita Nyong’o has had a stellar rise over the past 12 months, following her breakout performance in director Steve McQueen’s Oscar-winning film 12 Years a Slave. It was her debut movie role for which she picked up the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, beating Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts.
