Almost Home was a pretty amusing short film released last year to tease this DreamWorks Animation feature. It was a four-minute montage of the alien Boov race’s desperate attempts to find a new home where they would be safe from their enemies and featured Steve Martin as the voice of self-important Boov leader Captain Smek.

After a bit of a delay, Home – based on the children’s book The True Meaning Of Smekday by Adam Rex – has arrived and, well, it looks like the soup was better than the steak, so to speak.
