Few things are more fun for cats this time of year than a Christmas tree filled with lights, decorations and tinsel, and animal welfare experts are calling on cat lovers to think twice how they decorate their evergreen.

Cats generally find it hard to resist tapping the baubles hanging on a tree. The problem is that they are usually made of wafer-thin glass. When this smashes, it's a nuisance for you, but more importantly, it can be painful for the cat.
