Costa Coffee, renowned for its high-quality smooth, full-bodied coffee beans and sumptuous brews, gives its loyal fans and coffee lovers everywhere the opportunity to savour that essential cup of joe in the comfort of their own homes.

The company’s Malaysian operations, Gapurna Permai, recently announced that to further aid the current Restricted Movement Control Order, Costa Coffee has an app that allows Malaysians and others in the country to have their favourite Costa Coffee brew delivered to their home while they stay safe during the period of social distancing and stay-home advisories. The app would be catered to its stores in the Klang Valley and would exclude the petrol stations and airport outlets.

A company representative in Malaysia said that “The company places the safety of its customers, its employees and members of the public above all else, and with respect to the current situation, Costa Coffee is committed to providing a safe environment, with cleanliness also as our priority. In addition to the mobile app, the company was also making changes to its outlets, such as options with regards to self-collection.”

One Tap, Many Options

Fans of the coffee brand can download the app and register themselves, after which they can select for Self-Collection or delivery after placing an order via their mobile devices for their favourite brew. Spending as little time as possible in any outlet is the new norm for many during these challenging times, so Costa Coffee has made it easier for its fans and followers.

Designed For Ease

For starters, the self-collection option includes both pick-up and take-away at selected Costa Coffee outlets, and the bonus feature here is customers place their order on the app ahead of time, and Costa’s highly-trained baristas prepare the coffee, by the time the customer arrives, the coffee is ready for pick-up or self-collect takeaway, which removes the matter of queueing up at these outlets. Not having to queue up helps customers avoid breaching social distancing concerns.

Whether you are coming to pick up your order or ordering to take-away, the app allows you to order ahead of time and still have your coffee freshly brewed by the time you arrive. Not only do you no longer have to queue, but you spend a minimal amount of time in the outlet.

Coffee To You

Customers can also choose to have their favourite Costa Coffee brew delivered via third parties such as the GrabFood platform or by Hand Delivery.

The Hand Delivery option has been designed to reflect the fact that Costa Coffee is taking necessary precautions to ensure that customers can enjoy having their Costa Coffee beverage hand-delivered to them safely within a 500-metre radius of the six Costa Coffee stores (Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, Nu Sentral Shopping Mall, Q Sentral, Menara Allianz Sentral, Bangsar Shopping Centre and Menara MCMC).

A customer places the order and keys-in the address via the app, a barista from the store then freshly brews and prepares the order and subsequently will personally ensure the order is sent to the address the customer has keyed in via the app. The customer can also request for the orders to be left at their desired locations for pickup to minimize contact.

Customers who live outside the 500 metre radius of the Costa Coffee outlets and stores can still order via the app and have the coffee delivered to them via GrabFood.

Order Remotely And Voila – Freshly Brewed Coffee

The app brings with it many benefits, key among them giving customers and fans the ultimate choice as customers now choose the preferred time for pick-up, take-away or delivery of their favourite Costa brew, all at a single touch from their device.

Additionally, as all stores have now been made cashless and seating areas/ dine-in have been closed temporarily in accordance with recommendations on social distancing, the app offers the convenience and accessibility to generate contactless payments via various mobile e-wallets and FPX offered for the ease of transacting.

The mobile app promotes cashless transactions as Costa aims to be a full-fledged cashless F&B business by 2022. “We value our customers’ loyalty and love towards Costa Coffee and welcome any feedback to further improve our services. Our prayers are with the nation and the world.”
