Cratze Art in Nova Saujana in Subang, Selangor, is a studio to unleash your crazy ideas about art. Founded by Debbie Yap Tze Mei, this venue caters to groups big and small.
“Everyone can have the freedom of expression – and you don’t have to be an art virtuoso,” said Yap. “With creativity, art will heal the inner soul and enhance your life.”
This studio has played host to events such as bridal parties, baby showers, birthday celebrations, hen nights and corporate team building.
The aim of this set-up is to encourage personal development, positive relationships and cultivation of support networks.
There are group packages for 20 (RM48 to RM120 per pax) up to 40 (RM38 to RM90 per pax) to indulge in Cratze Art, Art Jamming and Paint In The Dark for three hours. The packages include a glass of wine or free flow of coffee/tea and art materials and tools.
Art Jamming allows you to draw and paint as you like. Crazy Art (or “messy art”) is a session where you get your hands dirty and have fun and laughter. Participants wear protective raincoats or T-shirts, and splash paint on drawing paper mounted on a wall!
Her classes are not a standard affair but jazzed up with themes.
Paint In The Dark is quite popular. This event can accommodate 15 people per session. Participants can come dressed in neon clothes. Or you can choose workshops (one-and-a-half hour sessions) on Burn Art (RM98), Tissue Art (RM120) and Crepe Paper Flowers (RM180). You can also learn how to make Paper Roses, Quilling Art and Japanese Pastel Nagomi Art (finger-painting with soft pastel colours).
The studio, Yap said, caters for private and corporate team-building events with a choice of packages offered, or they can customise your requests. It also has a tie-up with Uroko Japanese Cuisine whereby sake and Japanese food can be served, on request.
