So, all this fuss over black shoes. Personally, I applaud the change as I hated washing my white school shoes every weekend during my student days, and the canvas didn’t wear well after too many washes.
Since the schools required the shoes to be pristine white, many of us took to covering the grey with chalk. However, the discipline teachers knew better and would force us to stamp our feet. As clouds of white lifted in the air, all the dirt and grime would show up.
