Wedding bells will ring for Prince Harry of Wales and American actress Meghan Markle when they exchange marriage vows at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle in England, tomorrow.

According to Bazi charts, royal couple Prince Harry and Markle are mutually attracted to each other based on the elements in their charts, said Raymond Lo, renowned Hong Kong feng shui master, in an e-mail interview.

Lo said Bazi is a complex Chinese fortune-telling system based on a person’s birth data – year, month, day and hour of birth. The Chinese believe everything in the universe, including human destiny, can be expressed in terms of five basic elements – fire, earth, wood, water and metal.

Prince Harry, 33, a member of the British royal family, met Markle, 36, on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. They have been in a relationship since June 2016. On Nov 27 last year, they got engaged.

The marriage will be the first for Harry (born on Sept 15, 1984, 4.20am), who is sixth in line to the British throne. It would be the second marriage for Markle (born on Aug 4, 1981, 4.46am) who was previously married to actor and producer Trevor Engelson on Sept 10, 2011, then divorced in August 2013.

Lo said Prince Harry is a strong water person who requires wood and fire elements. Earth is also favourable to him.

Markle’s Bazi has wood and earth, and her elements are an attraction to Prince Harry. However, fire is missing in her chart.

Markle has weak wood elements, and needs the support of water, which Prince Harry has in abundance. The pair has each other’s favourable elements which form the main attraction between them, Lo said.

He said Prince Harry is “strong yang water” (like an ocean). He is full of energy and enthusiasm, and is intelligent but somewhat impulsive.

“His weakness is having too much water and lacking fire. This means he will face strong competition,” Lo said.

Markle is “weak yang wood” which means she is honest and sticks to her principles, but is a little stubborn and not one to easily make compromises. Currently, she has water luck which is good luck. But she has a competitor as yin wood is present in her month pillar.

In fact, “both of them have competitors and their relationship can be easily disturbed by a ‘third person,’” Lo said.

While the wedding date, May 19, is not normally considered an auspicious day for marriage according to the Chinese Almanac, it turns out Prince Harry may be safe.

Lo explained: “It is the day of the metal pig, in the month of the fire snake. And the snake and pig clash.” However, in Prince Harry’s case, he appears to have an angel in the wings, looking out for him.

Harry is a yang water person, whose noblemen are the rabbit and snake. And the month of May happens to be the month of the snake. Hence, Harry’s nobleman will be on hand to help him, right when he needs them.

According to Lo, last year – the year of the Fire Rooster – there were strong romance predictions in Harry’s charts, including marriage. The fire element is linked with a woman, while the rooster equates to peach blossom luck (which equates to love and marriage).

Prince Harry’s Bazi chart is filled with metal and water which indicate that he is highly emotional and impulsive, according to local feng shui master Jessie Lee.

However, there is an absence of fire and in Harry’s case, fire represents happiness and fulfilment, and wealth and wife.

Lee says that all through Harry’s life, he has been seeking happiness which has been elusive. When he was 28 (in 2011), fire entered his luck pillar and he thought he had found happiness. In 2016 and 2017, fire again appeared. But the fire (element) was weak, like a sun blocked by clouds.

Markle is a wood lady and in Chinese metaphysics, wood is conquered by metal.

The Monkey (2016) and Rooster (2017) years both have metal elements. That is why Markle “encountered” her man during these years. This year (2018, Earth Dog), the strong earth dog supports metal, and so it is also Markle’s chance to get married.

However, all may not be rosy on the horizon. Lo predicts that their relationship will be “tested” when Prince Harry turns 37 (in 2022) when his luck pillar changes to yin fire.

“Harry is a water person, and water conquers fire. Fire in this case refers to a woman,” he said. Another fire element is present in his 10-year luck cycle (from the age of 37 to 47). This means that he may meet another woman, Lo reckoned.

As far as May 19 goes, it’s not looking too good as a wedding day in the charts.

However, there are a few auspicious stars including heavenly virtue, earthly wealth and the “sky horse” which represents travel. Which could suggest that this couple will lead an active lifestyle, and has far to go.
