Do we really question the value of 'free'?

A scene from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Recently, I got to watch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the latest instalment in the Star Wars franchise. Naturally, real Star Wars fans watch the movie the day before it goes out on national release. And the really dedicated ones do it with the benefit of free tickets.

Yes, that’s the word that probably caught your eye: Free. I doubt you even had to really be a fan to want one of those. It was a promotion given by one of the banks: buy RM500 worth of goods with the bank’s credit card at a particular shopping mall and get two free tickets. Easy.
