In September, fans of both Eastern and Western pop culture converged at the Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre at the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort.

The convention was established in 2008 by PI Events as the Singapore Toy & Comic Convention and was held at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. The free to enter two-day event purportedly drew such an overwhelming crowd – over 130,000 people – that it was extended the following year to three days with double the floor space and renamed Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention to encompass wider content.
