As the country celebrates its 59th National Day and 53rd Malaysia Day, Tun Musa Hitam looks back at where he was during the early years of independent Malaya and the formation of Malaysia.
He also reflects on his political career that ended in 1986 when he was Deputy Prime Minister and, as he writes in his memoir launched last month, “backed out when everybody said I was nearly there”. He spent 15 years thinking about writing the book, he tells Star2 in an exclusive interview, but the actual writing took only eight months.
