Rehabilitating a rescued pet with special needs takes teamwork. It involves the rescuer, the veterinarian, the caregiver, the fosterer and, hopefully, an adopter. Volunteers and well-wishers also play an important part as they step in when help is needed.

Special needs pets and animals are those with disabilities or injuries. Canine welfare project Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) believes in giving such animals another shot at life, even if the injuries are horrific.
