What comes with big ears? Bunnies, of course. Photos: Alycia Lim

Describing Alycia Lim as a chip off the old block isn’t quite right, though it’s hard to ignore the role her mum played in sparking her curiosity in crafts. Her sustained interest in the area up to adulthood speaks volumes of the depth of her burning passion.

“I started making things from a very young age. I recall playing with homemade playdough and making macaroni jewellery,” said the Malaysian, now residing in Singapore, adding that her mother’s penchant for patchwork and quilting saw them visit a variety of craft stores. “As I grew up, different craft trends surfaced – friendship bracelets to macrame, flower making from straw, various types of origami and making jewellery.”
