Blood bank for dogs, a first for Taiwan and both owners and pets are happier for it.

Owners brought their dogs to donate blood at Taiwan's Pingtung University of Technology and Science's teaching animal hospital after the facility opened on June 30. This is the first animal blood bank in the country.

Researchers hope to help injured dogs that usually have to rely on ad-hoc donations as hospitals don't have a supply of dog blood.
