No more Fantastic Four? Hold that thought and never count Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben out.

Last month’s Secret Wars finale held some major ramifications for the Marvel Universe and fandom as well. On the surface, it was a massive crossover event that offered numerous relaunch opportunities and a souped-up Reed Richards (Mr Fantastic) vs Dr Doom tale.

Akin to Merseyside derbies, any battle (be it of wits or brute strength) between these longtime arch-foes is worth the cover price and the sacrifice. Only this time, the stakes involved were extremely high: the last shred of evidence that Earth 616 (the primary setting for most Marvel Comics tales) exists, and an ongoing Fantastic Four title!
