New menswear label K Scope infuses a number of streetwear elements and accessories.

A new menswear brand incorporates streetwear elements to appeal to the young and young-at-heart.

With the "k-raze" for all things Korean, it’s only a matter of time before a brand celebrating K-fashion hits our shores.

Meet K Scope, a menswear label which just entered the retail scene in Malaysia. It is now available exclusively at Parkson outlets in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Nu Sentral, KL.

Short for “Korean Kaleidoscope”, K Scope touts itself as a Korean “brand of brands”, featuring four lines. It incorporates a number of streetwear elements and accessories to appeal to the young and young-at-heart.

Edge of glory: Known for its highly wearable goth-punk looks, Raven from Kscope is perfect for the man who wants to express his underground sensibilities.

K Scope part-curates, part-designs its collections, which are infused with a Korean sensibility that is the rage among trendsetters, celebrities and fashionistas.

K Scope’s lines include:

Described as a T-shirt bar that aims at refreshing a man’s wardrobe every season. Its easy-to-wear tees sport the latest treatments and stylish adaptations of runway trends.

Past seasons have seen the popular skull motif portrayed with exciting interpretations, such as handsewn lace with rugged trims. When neon colours were in, original graphics were given the psychedelic treatment and enhanced with a 3D double-layer effect achieved through fabric printing techniques.

New menswear label K Scope infuses a number of streetwear elements and accessories.

With themes ranging from The Enchanted Forest to Men In The Moon and Victoriana, 0148 is priced from RM99 to RM179.

The shirt-and-shorts combo is a casual wear favourite that has travelled beyond the country club and cabana. Seen even at summer weddings and nightclubs, the look is here to stay.

It starts with the right cut of shorts and the perfect shirt, so the Weekend man always looks smart, never sloppy.

To update his look every season, he just needs to incorporate the latest prints, colours and fabric. Last year saw a riot of the season’s florals, whereas Spring/Summer 2014 features medieval style prints. Coming up is a denim collection as well as a range of oxford shirts to complete the casual warbrobe.

Known for its highly wearable goth-punk looks, Raven is perfect for the metropolitan male who wants to express his underground edge.

Pieces come in a mainly black/white/grey colour palette, and are easy to put together. For example, a light knit black top comes layered with a grey waterfall scarf effect, while a black knit T-shirt with has a built-in vest.

Fans of couturiers such as Rick Owens and Damir Doma will find Raven appealing. Priced between RM99 and RM249.

Raven Black Label

Special occasion menswear that takes off from the goth-punk style of the Raven label.

Perfect for a night out in the town, it takes traditional materials and fashion references to create a talking point. So the Raven Black Label man will stand out for all the right reasons.

Past pieces include a gladiatorial half-kilt in black worn over pants and a black dress shirt which has its knife-pleated front replaced with shiny black strips of faux leather.

Not for the wallflowers, this. With a limited-edition seasonal release, Raven Black Label’s pieces start from RM369.
