Make a simple Valentine’s Day card to show your love for your other half.

HAPPY Valentine’s Day! There’s barely any time left to make something for your special Valentine, but as always, we have a nifty, easy craft idea for you to try out.

Already bought a gift for your other half? No sweat, just whip up this quick jar of hearts card to top it off.

Colourful foam sheets are great for making 3D cards. For this project, we took the liberty of shaping them into cute tiny hearts to fill up a hand-drawn jar.

For a similar 3D effect, you can try using a bottle of pink puff paint to draw tiny heart squiggles in place of the foam hearts. That needs some time to dry up, though, so remember to manage your time well!

Valentine’s Day card

Skill level: Easy

Time required: 10 minutes

Stuff you’ll need: Hard card paper in white, red foam sheet, small sharp scissors, glue tape and felt-tip pen.

1. Fold hard card paper in half. Make a neat crease.

2. Draw an image of a jar on the front of the folded card. If you’re afraid of making a mistake, sketch with a pencil first, then outline over with a pen. Erase remaining pencil marks.

3. With a sharp pair of

scissors, cut out a series of red foam hearts.

4. Arrange the hearts to look like they are

contained within the jar on the card.

Have a few seem as though they are

bursting out of the jar.

5. Once you’re happy with the arrangement, apply glue tape onto the back

of each heart and secure it in place.
