Scott’s bags bronze trophy at 2019 Putra Brand Awards

In recognition of its ongoing commitment in helping children lead stronger, brighter and healthier lives, Scott’s was awarded the Bronze Award in the health category at the 2019 Putra Brand Awards on Sept 27.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei cluster general manager Bryan Wong said, “We are gratified by the trust and believe that our consumers have given us with this award.

Scott’s by GSK Consumer Healthcare Sdn Bhd, the brand owner of Scott’s in Malaysia, is a trusted household brand among many Malaysian parents. Scott’s presence in Malaysia is geared towards its dedication in helping families stay healthy, protected and prepared through its range of products.

According to the Ministry of Health, intake of omega-3 fatty acids of the average Malaysian remains low. Omega-3 fatty acids, which consists of DHA, EPA and ALA is an important source found in oily cold-water fish like salmon and sardine and, as well as other seafoods, plays an important role in a child’s development.

However, research suggests that most Malaysian children often prefer meat or poultry over fish, as they are unable to bear the fishy taste. This becomes a challenge for parents, as they find it difficult to provide their children with the right amount of daily nutrition.

In fact, nearly half of Malaysian parents are concerned about their children’s feeding behaviour due to their picky-eating habits.

Through understanding the challenges parents go through, Scott’s introduced the Scott’s DHA Gummies which contains microencapsulated technology locking in the goodness of DHA without the fishy smell.

With just three gummies consumed a day, children will be able to obtain sufficient contribution to their daily DHA intake requirement. Additionally, the gummies also contain Vitamin D, which supports healthy growth and bone development.

GSK also launched its Scott’s Kindergarten and Primary School Outreach programme as a continuation of its efforts to champion the curiosity in children in a fun and activity-driven learning experience such as storytelling, problem-solving and sensory play, alongside the integration of Scott’s DHA Gummies new blackcurrant flavour.

The programme aims to benefit more than 10,000 children across 100 kindergartens and primary schools in the Klang Valley. Scott's DHA Gummies is a food product to be consumed as part of a healthy and varied diet.
