New Australian research has found that whether smokers opt for traditional tobacco cigarettes, e-cigarettes or new heat-not-burn devices, they still risk damaging their lungs.
Carried out by researchers at the University of Tasmania and the University of Sydney, along with India’s National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, the new study looked at the effects of the nicotine sources on two types of cells taken from the lungs – epithelial cells and smooth muscle cells.
