Those with moderate to severe depression had a five-fold increased risk of death compared to those with no or mild depression.

Moderate to severe depression is associated with a five-fold increased risk of all cause mortality in patients with heart failure, according to research presented recently at Heart Failure 2015.

Heart Failure 2015 is the main annual meeting of the Heart Failure Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) and took place May 23-26 in Seville, Spain.
