I RECENTLY read about the case of the Indonesian man who had warts which grew out of his hands. They were so extensive they resembled trees. The newspapers reported that his warts were caused by the Human Papilloma virus (HPV). What is HPV? I always thought it had something to do with sex?

The HPV family consists of over 100 viruses, which can all affect different parts of your body, so they are not confined to sexual transmission only. It is a virus that can affect your skin and mucous membranes. HPVs are numbered from 1,2,3 and onwards.
