...Women who already have a HPV infection? 

“When we looked at this, we saw that women who were already infected with one or more HPV types 6, 11, 16 or 18, prior to vaccination, were protected from the remaining types of HPV in the vaccine,” says Merck & Co Inc’s Director of Biologics Clinical Research Dr Carlos Sattle. “This means that if a woman is already infected with HPV 6, she will be protected from HPV 11, 16 and 18.”
