War against drug addiction

OVER 500 key players involved in the battle against drug addiction gathered at the first National Conference on Addiction Medicine (NatCAM) recently in a concerted effort to further intensify our nation’s battle against drug abuse. The conference was officiated by Health Minister, Datuk Dr Chua Soi Lek. He was represented by Datuk Dr Shafie bin Ooyub, Deputy Director General of Health (Public Health), Ministry of Health Malaysia. 

Themed New Strategies and Partnerships in the Management of Drug Addiction, the conference sought to provide a much-needed platform for medical practitioners, paramedics, caregivers and NGOs to gather and engage in the sharing of knowledge and the fostering of new partnerships towards the development and implementation of new effective strategies in combating the age-old drug menace.
