Severity of a coma

I AM disturbed by the increasing number of snatch thefts that have occured in recent months. My elderly neighbour was a victim of a snatch thief, who assaulted her during her walk to the provision shop and pushed her onto the road. She fell into a coma. What is a coma?  

A coma is actually a deep state of unconsciousness. When you are in a coma, you do not respond to any physical or auditory stimulus, such as stroking your hand or leg, or a human voice.
