Professor Gerard Bodeker, the medicine man

PROFESSOR Gerard Bodeker was guest speaker at the official launch of Himalaya Herbal Healthcare in Kuala Lumpur recently. In explaining Ancient Medicine, Modern Science: New Directions in Global Healthcare, Prof Bodeker touched on different aspects of traditional medicine and its role in the present and future health of the global community. 

Prof Bodeker is eminently qualified to review the current and future status of traditional medicine. He’s a senior faculty member in public health in the University of Oxford Medical School and is Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology at Columbia University, New York. His doctoral research at Harvard University focussed on the World Health Organisation’s policy on traditional medicine and the development of policy on traditional medicine in India and China.
