THE healing effects of qigong are attributed to several factors. The most important is the increase in amount and flow of qi (life-force) through the energy meridians, nourishing the cells and organs. Qigong exercises increase qi levels, release blockages in the qi-channels, and distribute the qi to the targeted organs depending on the type of exercise done.
Aupressure massage, acupuncture, moxibustion and several other methods of stimulating the acupoints also release blockages and enhance qi flow. But qigong or other similar exercises are necessary to increase qi.
