Battle fatigues

An intern’s first year passes with the all intensity of boot camp. 

THE new recruits arrived rested and ready for battle. Issued their new uniforms – starched, spotless white coats, and ill-fitting garden-green scrubs – they were thrown into battle – to sink or swim. It wouldn’t be long before their clothing would be stained and spattered with blood. They were interns, and their 52-week boot camp would be in the field.
