On May 21 this year the World Health Organisation adopted a historic anti-tobacco treaty aimed at stemming the rising smoking-related death toll.
The treaty also bans or restricts tobacco advertising, introduces more prominent health warnings and controls the use of terms such as “low tar” on cigarette packs.
