Themed dinner experience

An array of exciting and mouth-watering dishes showcasing different themes has been prepared by Impiana KLCC Hotel’s culinary team to offer choices andselections for Tonka Bean guests in October. The Pan Asian Treats buffetdinner is priced at RM68++ per person and is available from Mondays to Thursdays. Followed by the Taste of Mediterranean buffet dinner on Fridays and Saturdays at RM88++ per person, and finally the carvery buffet dinner on Sundays at RM48++ per person. These dinner spreads are prepared carefully and diligently by chefs to ensure the satisfaction of flavour. Baskin Robbins ice creams are served along as part of the buffet every night. Asian Afternoon Tea

In the contemporary surroundings of The Sphere Lounge, afternoon tea lovers will be tempted by the wonderful new offering of Asian Afternoon Tea set. Served in the threetier platter are selected sweet and savoury treats such as Vietnamese Prawn Toast, Malay Spiced Sardine Squares, Indian Vegetable Samosa, Thai Fried Wanton, Kuih Talam and Mini Egg Tart. The Asian Afternoon Tea is available daily from 3pm to 6pm at RM50++ per set. Apart from the tea set, diners will go nuts over chocolates and hazelnuts throughout October. Chocolate lovers will be delighted with the Absolute Chocolate Experience promotion comprising Chocolate Pralines, Chocolate Cheese Cake, Chocolate Financiers, Chocolate Donut and Chocolate Macarons. Meanwhile, hazelnut enthusiasts will not be disappointed with the splendid selection of heavenly Hazelnut Wonders to satisfy their cravings. Sun, closed for lunch, opens for dinner. Pork-free. Serves Catalonian-style cuisine noted for its seafood and rice dishes. Expect good wines and an extensive tapas selection.

The plenteous use of garlic, olive oil, herbs and spices with lemon juice as a seasoning makes the Lebanese meal terribly enticing to discerning taste buds. Olive oil, nuts, fresh bread, baklava and laban (homemade yoghurt) are some of the staples in the Lebanese diet.

11am to 10pm, daily. Serai restaurants are a spin-off from Serai Group Sdn Bhd’s first successful initiative Serai Thai in Shah Alam. Serai Platter which comes with oxtail assam pedas, honey squid, fruit achar and ayam goreng berempah is Serai’s most popular dish, selling up to 80 plates a day while the nasi kerabu sells 50 plates a day.

A type of sauce sampled at a restaurant in Thailand led Bar B.Q Plaza’s owner to set up shop here. The sauce makes all the difference. Set lunch at RM9.90 on weekdays.

The restaurant is where great effort is put in by chefs to ensure the food looks and tastes good. There are Rack of Lamb, Salmon Steak, Ovo Fried Rice, Prawn Pesto Pasta and Claypot Glass Noodles, just to name a few.

SPICE OF INDIA, Level 4, Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, KL (Tel: 03-2164 9221). Business hours: 10am-10pm, daily. Pork-free. Specialises in Northern and Southern Indian cuisine. Recommended dishes include Pomfret Tandoori, Leg of Lamb, Fish Head Curry, Lobster Tandoori and King Prawn Tandoori.

Cantonese cuisine prepared hot from the wok is available in a variety of cooking styles. Famous for its glistening barbecued pork, roasted pork, whole roasted goose, signature pork ribs and dishes cooked with crab meat and egg white.

A place to chill out with a variety of premier German beers (Paulaner, Hacker Pschorr and Thurns und Taxis) served with scrumptious pork ribs and crispy pork knuckles. Pizza is available until 2am on Fridays & Saturdays. Pork-free. A casual, intimate and inviting place with wood-fired gourmet pizzas, homemade pasta and steaks.

The restaurant serves up new dishes such as Pan Seared Cod fish with ratatouille and Chermoula dressing, eight-hour braised lamb with cauliflower puree and tomato juice and the Tian of Steamed Prawns with poached tomato and citrus dressing at its newly refurbished restaurant.

CHILI’S GRILL & BAR, Lot 346B, Level 3, Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, KL (Tel: 03-2164 1400). Serves American and Mexican food with specialities homemade hi-fi bread and Multon Chocolate Brownie. Offers a great view of KLCC’s fountain.

FISHERMAN’S COVE, LG10, Feast Village, Starhill Gallery, 181 Jalan Bukit Bintang, KL (Tel: 03-2782 3848). Business hours: noon-1am, daily. The restaurant is designed as a boathouse and is tastefully decorated with sails and lamps to re-create a fishing village. The focus is on seafood, prepared in an open kitchen.
