Cajun and Pakistani cuisines have been inducted for the first time into the latest Michelin guide for Kyoto and Osaka, bringing the total number of cuisines represented in the book to 32.
Though both cities are well-known for their mastery of traditional Japanese cuisine, Washoku, Michelin inspectors expanded consideration to other types of cuisine, highlighting the evolution of the dining landscape in the region, said international director Michael Ellis.
