Whup Whup: From factory to offbeat eatery and good food

The Mohawk Salmon with Pineapple Salsa and Mash is an example of a dish where different elements can work together well and reflects just what Whup Whup is capable of producing.

Large, heavy-duty lorries swamp the roads leading to Whup Whup, a new eatery – opened last December – hidden deep in the depths of the Subang Jaya Industrial Estate. Considering the company that surrounds it (factories, factories and then some) you can’t help but wonder who could possibly see potential in a place like this.

Well, three people clearly did. Former DJ and singer-turned-chef Liang, his fiancée and part-time art teacher Pojoo Sim and their friend, barista trainer Levi Asher went against the grain in setting up Whup Whup, seeing possibility where others would probably have seen adversity.
