Watch: How to enjoy durian even if you don't like the fruit

A vendor displays the cross section of a durian fruit at a roadside shop in Karak, in the suburbs of Pahang outside Kuala Lumpur on July 14, 2015. The durian, locally known as the “king of fruits”, is distinctive for its large size, strong odour, and formidable thorn-covered husk. The fruit can grow as large as 30 centimetres long and 15 centimetres and typically weighs one to three kilograms. Its shape ranges from oblong to round, the colour of its husk green to brown, and its flesh pale yellow to red, depending on the species. AFP PHOTO / MOHD RASFAN

Durian may be considered the King of Fruits in this country but not all Malaysians enjoy it, largely due to its "unique" aroma. But these people often have a change of heart and relish the taste of the fruit when it is cooked into dishes and baked into snacks.

Makan Kitchen, the signature restaurant of DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, proves that in a video of a taste test to promote the durian-inspired items on offer at its weekend hi-tea. It may not be the most original idea, but we think it's cleverly done and gets the point across.
