When is a cronut not a cronut? When it's a Dunkin' Donuts croissant-doughnut

Dunkin' Donuts’ new Croissant Donut will be launched in the US for a limited time starting today. It comes more than a year after New York bakery Dominique Ansel introduced its now-trademarked Cronut, which became a viral sensation and spawned numerous knockoffs. – Dunkin’ Donuts

Dunkin’ Donuts in America will begin selling a combination croissant-doughnut early November, as the coffee shop chain follows a popular pastry hybrid that has drawn hordes to a New York bakery.

The ring-shaped croissant-doughnut will feature a “delicate and flaky croissant ring that is glazed like a donut” and debut Nov 3 at specific US locations, says Dunkin’ Brands spokeswoman Michelle King.
