IN CONJUNCTION with National Day tomorrow, Best Western Premier Dua Sentral’s Kembali Kitchen will be serving a special high tea featuring authentic Malaysian dishes.

Located on the 1st floor of the hotel, Kembali Kitchen is chic and contemporary, providing a warm ambience with soothing background music and theatre-style lighting.

Among the dishes on the menu are Grilled Seabass with Lemon and Honey Onions and Red Pepper Sauce, Kelantan-style Ayam Percik, Wok-fried Sweet and Sour Crab Chinese style, Beef Rendang Tok Perak-style, Ayam Masak Lemak Cili Padi Minang Negri Sembilan, Selangor-style Sotong Sambal Petai, aloo ghobi aur matter, chicken and beef satay as well as Pumpkin with Shrimp Paste. Fresh tropical fruits, mouth-watering desserts and an assortment of kuih will also be served.

Kembali Kitchen’s Chef Vishan said the dishes represented signature cuisine from all states in the country.

“We selected the best and most famous dishes from each state and prepared them authentically using spices and ingredients from those states.

“The dish from Malacca is spicy while the one from Pahang is sourish. The food from Johor is sweet. This shows how each dish and cuisine is different.”

“A lot of love and pride has gone into preparing the food, he said.

The dishes we sampled tasted unique but blended well with each other.

Apart from the wide array of dishes, a diverse selection of paintings depicting events that led to independence will also be on display at the hotel lobby.

Traditional instruments such as the gamelan and gong will also be played by local musicians.

The Merdeka Feast high tea is available tomorrow, between noon and 4pm and is priced at RM68++ for adults and RM34 for children aged between six and 12 years.

As an added bonus, those born on Aug 31, who turn 56 in August, or the 56th guest to make a reservation, will get to dine for free.
