THIS Ramadan, enjoy some of the finest kampung offerings for buka puasa at the Selera Satu Kampung event at Hotel Royal Kuala Lumpur’s.

Hotel sous chef Mohd Hafif Mohd Salleh said they had brought some of the most sought-after traditional dishes to Kuala Lumpur.

“Not everyone will be lucky enough to balik kampung this year to enjoy home-cooked Raya specialties.

“As such, we decided to offer food that would make customers feel at home at our Makan2 Restaurant.

“For starters, indulge in a variety of kerabu salads, such as Kerabu Jantung Pisang, Kerabu Mangga and Kerabu Daging Salai to name a few,” said Mohd Hafif.

For soups, he said the hotel was offering Sup Gearbox, Sup Ekor Sapi and Sup Tulang prepared using authentic recipes which was great when savoured with bread, rice or eaten on its own.

There is a big selection of jeruk buah (fruit pickle) and you can have tauhu sumbat, gado-gado, sotong kangkung or rojak buah.

At the live cooking counter, pick your favourites like ikan bakar (grilled fish), made using terubuk, pari, kembung or cencaru.

For something unique yet tasty, try Roti Canai Durian or have the usual roti canai or murtabak with Kari Daging Tetel.

All-time favourites such as lemang kampung, asam laksa, bihun sup utara and bubur lambuk are also served.

Diners should also try some of chef Mohd Hafif’s irresistible main specialties that include Paru Goreng Berlado, Rendang Tok, Kambing Masak Kuzi, Ketam Goreng

Berlado, Perut Masak Lemak Cili Padi dengan Rebung, Sambal Udang dengan Petai and much more.

For those with a sweet tooth, end your feast with favourite Malay desserts such as sago gula Melaka, bubur chacha and bubur pulut hitam among many other traditional kuih.

Guests will also be entertained by budding local artists and musicians every night, hosted by Kelly Azman.

The buffet is priced at RM60 nett per person during the first and last week of Ramadan and for early birds. Normal price is RM69.00++ per person.
