Chinese scientists have created a morphing ball of gallium that could theoretically become a robot in the future, but hopefully not like James Cameron’s murderous T-1000.

It may look like a small ball of metal, but the shape-shifting and self-propulsive abilities of a liquid metal alloy discovered by scientists at China’s Tsinghua University have captured the imaginations of scientists and science-fiction fans across the world.
