Muslim and Christian leaders unite to combat modern slavery


Religious leaders from al-Azhar and the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches have joined forces to set up Global Freedom Network with the aim of eradicating modern day slavery within 20 years.

The Roman Catholic Church, Church of England and al-Azhar, the Cairo-based seat of Sunni Muslim learning, made a rare show of joining forces to call for an end to modern slavery within 20 years.
