From leading lawyers as president of the Malaysian Bar, she is now leading a movement for electoral reform.
I WAS called to the Malaysian Bar in 1982 and stepped into what was considered at that time a male dominated profession. However the gender battles had already been taken on by outstanding women lawyers like Datuk P. G. Lim and Marina Yusoff. The path for women lawyers in my time had been made a little smoother by this. The challenges remained of course, but gender mattered less and less as the number of women joining the profession grew.
