I enjoy playing games and puzzles with my daughter because it is not only part of the learning process for her; it is also an opportunity for us to have fun and laugh.
My daughter Wincci is three years old. She got her first animal floor puzzle as a birthday gift when she was two years old. At first, she didn't really know how to play and complete the puzzle. But she was attracted by the colours and pictures and loved to play.
I had to lead her every time we started to put the puzzle together. Eventually, I realised that she was improving and started to learn and think. She can now group the puzzles by colours, pictures and shapes without asking for help. It is amazing to see her focus on completing the puzzle.
I believe learning through play is helping her build a foundation in learning and making her more creative.
Besides this, playing and learning through games and puzzles also inspires her imagination. I was surprised that she was able to tell me a story based on the games she played.
I like the Milo slogan: “Play more, learn more.” I think it is very true because by playing games and puzzles, children can learn so much; not just for their brain development, but also for physical development.
It also helps us understand our daughter better by knowing her strengths and weaknesses. This way, we are able to help her develop to her full potential.
The best part of playing puzzles and games is spending time together and being rewarded with my daughter's laughter, and watching our bond grow. Now, we continue to buy her different games and puzzles to develop and inspire creative and logical thinking and mathematical skills.
