Games and puzzles help my kids with their social skills because when they play interactively with other kids both in competition as well as in collaboration, the value lies in developing their interaction skills.
With more and more families being one- or two-child families and amidst the ubiquity of mobile devices that tends to inculcate introversion, the importance of games and puzzles that involve group participation can be a very socially-enriching experience.
As kids learn to interact with others beyond their own cocooned world, they would learn sooner, rather than later, that no one can remain an island, and in the real world, we need each other to function as a team, family and society.
Games and puzzles are good means and tools in developing social skills in children where chalk and board as well as books alone could not.
