I became pregnant with my second baby during the fasting month in 2011. I knew I was not prepared physically and mentally because my eldest son was just one year and five months old and was still fully breastfed.
I was planning to have a child later but God knows what is best for our family. Every night, I cried for my son whom I thought I would not be able to fully breastfeed up till the age of two years because the doctors and nurses had all advised me against it. They said that if I continued breasfeeding, my womb would be weak and I could lose my baby.
Day by day, I accepted my pregnancy more and more. What made me appreciate the child in my womb more was that my eldest son would always kiss my belly as he knew there was a baby inside.
His affection made me care more about my pregnancy and every month I went to check and see if my unborn baby was growing healthily.
This time, I experienced no allergies and in fact had no problems until my 31 week when I had severe pain one night. I had to be admitted into the hospital. It wasn't contractions but a pain that I cannot imagine nor describe.
After about seven hours of pain, the nurse said maybe it was my appendix. However, nothing could be done because I was pregnant. I was only advised complete rest and no heavy work.
Fortunately, I have a husband and child who always encourage me, even when I was ill. My son seemed to understand what I was going through.
When I returned from the hospital my son immediately embraced me and kissed my cheek. He said he missed me a lot. At that time, only God knows how sad I was to be away from him for two days when I was admitted. I hope I will have a safe delivery this month.
