Battling rash during pregnancy


I am a new mother to a four-month-old baby. I still remember the difficulties I encountered when I was pregnant a year ago.

I had rashes all over my body during early pregnancy and it itched like crazy. It started on my abdomen which spread fast to the rest of my body. Later, I found out that I was allergic to seafood and spicy food which I was not allergic to prior to getting pregnant.

This led me to stop taking all those foods throughout my pregnancy.

I started to whine that it was so difficult to have a baby. I had scars all over my body as a result of scratching my skin because of the rash. I started to feel self-conscious because of this. I had browsed through a lot of articles on “how to minimise rashes during pregnancy” and had consulted many of my friends and doctors. I even remember reading this from an article: Rashes begin in the early trimester and it is common among women carrying twins or big babies or those having their first baby.

Alarm bells immediately rang in my mind. Big baby?! When I had my ultrasound during my fifth month of pregnancy, my doctor advised me to control my diet as my unborn baby could be a big baby.

Therefore, from that day onwards, I was careful with my diet. I cut down on my carbohydrate intake and the subsequent checkup showed that my baby's weight was in the normal range.

I am proud to say that I was much disciplined and my baby's weight was a regular 3.1kg when I gave birth. Moreover, I managed to get back to my original figure in just two months' time.

Back to the rash problem, after numerous tries with many products, I managed to get the rashes under control. I found a lotion that not only cured my rashes but also left me with no stretch marks after delivery.

The doctor and nurses who have examined me were also very surprised and complimented me on my skin. I think it is the result of applying the lotion daily throughout my pregnancy period.
