The sun had just begun its ascent into the day as I set my tired legs on the rocky tops of Broga Hill (Selangor), and feelings of accomplishment and nostalgia ran through me. Just a year ago, a feat even as simple as this would have been unthinkable as I had been undergoing vigorous rounds of chemotherapy.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2012. At that moment in time, nothing could have sounded worse. I had barely done anything with my life, barely lived.
