What can I do at Family Day?

Are you excited? We are! Family Day is just a few days away and we can't wait to meet and see all of you and your beautiful and lively children.

Here is a list of activities at Family Day that you can participate in and look forward to:

Stall games

- Throw a ball at a stack of cans (there is an alternative version for the little ones)
- Throw a ring over a target
- Fishing
- Wire buzzer
- Darts (there is an alternative version those below 3ft)
- Penalty shootout

Races

- Egg in spoon (parent and child team)
- Run while dribbling the ball (parent and child team)
- Big duck, little duck race (parent and child team)
- Three-legged race (parent and child team)

Others

- Hula hoop contest
- Dance and stop contest
- Currypuff-eating competition

Prizes for these games, races and contests are sponsored by:

- MPH
- Kidz Spot (in Tropicana City Mall, PJ)
- Scholastic Books
- The Tango Mango Gift Shop
- Fusion Academy of Performing Arts Malaysia
- Pizza Hut
- Philips Malaysia
- Beebo.com.my
- Blackmores

Discovery House (discoveryhouse.com.my) will also be at Family Day to conduct a leadership game.

FYI, the best prizes are for the races, so you'll want to get there early and sign up because registration for races is limited.

Other fun stuff for kids:

- Clowns with balloon sculpture
- Face painting
- Inflatables for your kids to bounce on (these are a bit small because we did not expect such an overwhelming response)
- Activity by the nice ladies of Tadika Cempaka Suria, Petaling Jaya
- There may be bubbles (if any of the volunteers is free to blow bubbles)

What else can you do?

There will also be a craft demonstration by mummy blogger Merryn Tan () and first aid for children by Ellen Suppiah ().

There will also be free sampling of baby food by Dish Deli () and cupcakes by Simply Cakes (). The cupcakes are sponsored by Beebo ().

There will be free Dilmah tea to be enjoyed by the tea lovers.

Also participating are DIODE! Camp (), which organises camps for youths, and Rozana Garib () who creates smocking dresses.

How about food?

Visitors to the Family Day will also get free packets of Coco Pops sponsored by Kellogg Malaysia. Nimm2 candies will also be given out free.

ParenThots has catered for some light refreshments (sandwiches, currypuffs, Malay kuih). However, we are not serving breakfast or lunch so please don't arrive at 9am demanding to be fed.

All of these items will be available as long as they last.

I'm thirsty, how about water?

We have water and hopefully it will be enough. But if it's an incredibly hot day and everyone is thirsty and we get an unexpectedly HUGE crowd, the water may run out.

Just to be safe, bring along some water.

Where exactly is this being held?

It's at Kelab Kilat inside the TNB grounds off Jalan Bukit Pantai, KL. It's on the opposite side of the road from the Pantai Medical Centre. If you're driving downhill from Bangsar/Petaling Jaya along Jalan Bukit Pantai, then TNB is on your left. If you're coming from the main Pantai road, then the hospital is on your left and TNB is on your right.

You want to drive right into the TNB grounds, past the guardhouse. Then turn right into the parking lot. Park your car, get down and walk towards the field. You will be able to see the field from the parking lot.

How should my kids dress?

They need to be dressed comfortably and in shoes that they can run in. Leave the "glamour" clothes and trendy shoes at home. Bring a cap if you can just in case it's sunny.

What else do I need to know?

The first 100 who registered will receive a SURPRISE GIFT. You know who you are and so do we.

Registration for Family Day has been CLOSED due to overwhelming response.

There are toilets at Kelab Kilat.

The REALLY nice people at St John Ambulance will be sending an ambulance and personnel to be on standby.

Please be patient on the day. You're there for your kids, and not for the free food, drink or prizes.

We are not conducting a daycare service and anyone can still walk in and out of Kelab Kilat, so PLEASE keep an eye on your children. We do not want any untoward incidents. You are responsible for your own children.

Above all, have fun.

See you all on Saturday! :)
