Local NGO Women's Aid Organisation offers advice on what families can do to help prevent bullying.

Here's how parents can raise empathetic children, which hopefully, can snowball into a healthier, respectful generation.

 

Listen first

 

Make home a safe space where your child feels heard and understood.

Ask your child how they think others feel in different situations.

 

Model respect

 

Show them how you resolve conflicts calmly, without resorting to shouting or aggression.

 

Set clear boundaries

 

Explain that hurtful actions – offline or online – have real consequences.

 

Stay involved

 

Ensure open communication with teachers and monitor your child’s online activities.

 

Praise kindness

 

Recognise and reward small acts of compassion at home and in school.
