THERE’S a new artificial intelligence tool aimed at new parents called ParentGPT. It promises to provide them with fast, reliable answers to the everyday concerns that new mothers and fathers can face.

This AI is currently being launched exclusively in the US, available via the Oath Care app, which unites a community of parents and healthcare professionals. Directly derived from ChatGPT, ParentGPT is billed as a generative artificial intelligence tool specially dedicated to parents, especially lone parents or those with no support network.

This AI-powered chatbot strives to provide reliable advice and support to parents. To achieve this, ParentGPT is fed with a multitude of serious sources, such as scientific journals and various publications from recognised institutions and specialists. It is by no means a substitute for a medical practitioner, but it can provide parents with solutions that can be considered relatively reliable.

Whether it’s advice on breastfeeding, sleep or managing work-life balance, ParentGPT is all about reassurance. In addition to answering the most frequently asked questions by new parents, ParentGPT’s stated aim is to take some of the stress out of parenthood and make things seem less daunting. There are, however, some questions that will remain unanswered, particularly when it comes to alleged cases of abuse and domestic violence, where users are referred to dedicated services and emergency medical assistance.

Any user can post two messages per month in the community free of charge. After that, they must pay a subscription fee of US$5 (RM24) per month to continue to access ParentGPT. – AFP Relaxnews
