Are you over 50? Show us how you live life to the fullest, and you could win a prize!

Organised by Star Media Group and NUTREN® Optimum by Nestlè Health Science (NHSc), the Be A Star After 50 campaign aims to celebrate Malaysians over 50 who refuse to let age(ing) get in the way of leading a fulfilling life. Photo: 123rf.com

SUSEELA Dass enrolled in dance classes two years ago when she turned 60. Although she was the oldest student in her class of mostly thirty-somethings, she didn't feel out of place. In fact, she was thrilled to be pursuing her passion. Dancing made her happy, and she realised she had rhythm.

Like Suseela, many Malaysians who are in their 50s and above are discovering that age isn't a barrier to learning new things. The media is filled with stories of those in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond who are breaking barriers – people who start a new career in their 60s, who hike the world's highest peaks in their 70s, run marathons in their 80s and dance through their 90s!

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, be a part of this age-affirming campaign.

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, then the Be A Star After 50 Campaign is just the thing for you.

Organised by Star Media Group and NUTREN® Optimum by Nestlè Health Science (NHSc), the campaign aims to celebrate Malaysians over 50 who refuse to let age(ing) get in the way of leading a fulfilling life.

It is open to all Malaysians over 50 who are exemplary role models in four “pillars” (which form the acronym STAR): Sporty (those who are active), Tenderhearted (involved in charitable/community work), Ambitious (learning new skills, trying new experiences), Radiant (care for their health and wellness).

The campaign will end on Nov 15. To enter, post a photo(s) or video(s) of yourself being a Star on Facebook or Instagram. Your video submissions must not exceed one minute.

In your caption, write a summary in not more than 50 words on why you are a Star after the age of 50.

You must include these hashtags in your caption – #BeAStarAfter50, #OptimumLivingMY, #NutrenOptimum and #StarMediaGroup.

Submit your entries at bit.ly/beastarafter50. Make sure your social media profiles are set to public. The winners will be announced on Nov 24.

The four grand prize winners – one from each pillar – will win RM3,000 each. Four first runners-up will win RM1,000 each and four second runners-up will win RM500 each.

All 12 finalists will receive a Certificate of Merit and Nutren Optimum Product Hampers. Grand prize winners will be featured in digital videos too.

You can submit entries under more than one pillar. However, each entry per category must have its own post on your social media. For example, if you enter both the Sporty and the Ambitious categories, you will have to post two separate photos or videos on your feed.

There will also be a public webinar on Oct 27 on on the topic “Navigating Transitions to Thrive at 50 and Beyond”. Register for the webinar at bit.ly/beastarafter50-w2.
